Rock On, No. 3
Original linocut hand-printed in rich black ink on Indian cotton rag paper with deckled edges, roughly 8”x10”
This print is one in a collection of rocking chair prints that came about as an extension of a project exploring ancestry through fiber arts. Rocking chairs were invented in America in the late 1700s and remain strong symbols of Americana, often used in folk art. They are associated with both parenting and retirement, newborns and elders, and therefore serve as links in time. These images celebrate folk art craftsmanship and are reminders to slow down and take in each moment.
These original prints are created using a technique called block printing. Because of this hands-on process, each print is unique, and slight color or texture variation may occur. The finished print has a charm and a unique textured quality you won’t find with most mass production techniques.
I ship orders out 2-5 days after I receive them. Please keep in mind that orders to remote or rural areas within the United States may take longer than the 3-5 day average. I am currently only shipping within the US.
