Linocut Printmaking in Color: Jigsaw Prints

  • Durham Arts Council 120 Morris St., Durham NC (map)

This 4-week course meets on Wednesdays, April 30 - May 21, from 6:30-8:30 pm. In this intermediate course, we will learn the basics of printmaking in color using the jigsaw method. Jigsaw, or puzzle-block, printmaking is a method of carving a block into several sections, inking each section, and then piecing them back together (like a puzzle!) to pull a multi-colored print. We will learn to think in color, design our prints, and create registration devices to complete the printmaking process. Students must have taken Intro to Linocut Printmaking previously, or have their own established printmaking practice. Registration opens on Friday, Feb. 28. Find the materials list and register here.
